Die Abfall-App erweitert das Serviceangebot der Abfallwirtschaft und ergänzt den konventionellen Internetauftritt. Über die Abfall-App können sich Nutzer die regulären
Abfuhrtermine der Restmülltonne, Wertstofftonne Verpackungen sowie Wertstofftonne Papier usw. auf ihrem Smartphone anzeigen lassen. Feiertagsverschiebungen der
Abfuhrtermine werden dabei automatisch berücksichtigt.
Über die Abfall-App sind auf dem Smartphone alle Wertstoffhöfe, Recyclinghöfe und Containerstandorte abrufbar. Eine integrierte Suchfunktion ermöglicht es, die dem Wohnort
oder aktuellen Standort nächstgelegene Entsorgungsmöglichkeit per GPS-Navigation zu finden.
Ergänzt werden diese Funktionen durch ein Abfall-ABC. Hier kann mit die Entsorgungsmöglichkeit für alle relevanten Stoffe abgefragt werden.
Mit der Funktion Mängelmelder erhofft sich die Abfallwirtschaft eine Mithilfe der Bürger: Hier können volle Glascontainer, verschmutzte Containerstandorte oder "Wilde
Müll"-Ablagerungen mitgeteilt direkt per App, Standortmitteilung und Foto mitgeteilt werden.
